Monasterredan Plot Number 9.

Today, this plot of land consists of the village church, the former home of Batty and Maggie Murray and the pasture field on the upper side of the church. Some of the new houses beside the church are also built on it.

The land for the church was donated by Laurence Casey in the late 1880s. The valuation books show the area of the plot being reduced in 1894 when the space of the church foundations was removed.

The site for a house and garden was sold to Bartholomew Murray in 1958 where he and his wife Margaret (nee Towey)lived until their death. Their house remains but their garden has been built on with new housing.

Griffith 1858.

At this time, the plot of land was owned by James McDonnell and contained no houses or buildings.
