Tawnymucklagh Plot Number 13.

This is the biggest plot of land in Tawnymucklagh, nearly half as big again as the next largest. However, its low valuation indicates that much of it is very poor bog. Going down the "Island Road" towards Lomcloon, as you reach the railway line, this plot extends to the lake on your left and has the majority of the bog on your right as far as the shore of Loughanboy. It joins up with plot 12 nearly halfway to the stream draining Loughhanboy. There has been much turf cutting activity here in recent years.

Griffith 1858.

This land was owned by Patrick Sharkett and Patrick McHugh who both had houses here. Patrich McHugh had about two thirds of the land and was assessed as having the most valuable holding in Tawnymucklagh in 1858.
