Tawnymucklagh Plot Number 19.

Leaving the village towards Ballaghadereen, plot 19 is accessed by taking the third lane on your left. On the left hand side along the road, just the field either side of the lane is included. Thereafter, it widens out and extends to the lake shore of upper Lough Gara. The only other plot in Tawnymucklage with lake shore is plot 21. When the drainage work was completed along the Boyle River in the 50s, the water levels dropped and the lake has now receded from its original shore. On the right hand side, all the fields along the road from opposite the second lane on the left to the Holy Well are in this plot.

Griffith 1858.

John Sharkett jnr., Myles Sharkett, Thomas Flaherty and Thomas Sharkett owned the land between them at this time. They all had houses on the land. This was the Rundale system and unusually it was divided into 4 equal parts with equal value put on their houses.
