Tawnymucklagh Plot Number 24.
This is the part of Loughaunboy that is in Tawnymucklagh.
At this time there were two small lakes in the bogland area beyond the disused railway line.
Loughanboy was about 15 acres while Loughaunbeg was about an acre.
These have since disappeared when the Lough Gara drainage was improved in the 1950s.
The area close to the lakes was called Ballinahaun or "Baile an Loughaun" which still persists today.
Griffith 1858.
This part of the lake was owned by George French.
It was noted as being "in fee" which means that he was also the landlord.
